Default change of use of house?

    Hi all,

Have a question!! When I starting minding 18 months ago I was told I would need to check with my LA whether or not the use of our house would change from domestic to business (btw I rent my house!!) So I did and I was told not and asked for a letter confirming this. In July last year we were forced to move as our landlord wanted to sell our home! I have been trying to check about the useage again and after going round and round in circles with my LA I have now been told the law has changed and I need to apply for a certificate of lawful proposed development costing me £75! Has anyone else come accross this? Argh grr,
    Thanks xx

Are you in England? I rent and have moved rental properties whilst childminding and I have never heard of that. I don't think it's true
