I am looking after a 16 month old 2 days a week and I charge £4 an hour.Next week mum has asked me to have her other 2 children aged 4 and 7 years,do I reduce the hourly rate as a good will gesture ?.Perhaps £10 for the 3 instead of £12.What do you think?They are new mindees I have only had the 16 month for 1 week.

I think I would only offer a discount if I was asked about one.

I don't do discount as such but will round down a bit if it's out of the norm, like if they ask me to cover for a funeral or other emergency.

I would either charge my normal rate £3.75 or my ad hoc rate £5 per hour per child, depending if its a one off or longer term.

No sibling discount here, I find siblings can often wind each other up and be harder work . by 7 I find they are so used to being told what to do all day at school that they may just sit around saying they're bored or be continually asking 'what are we doing now?/next?'. I'd definitely want paying full price

No sibling discount here either ! It sounds mean but why would I want to offer to work for less just because they are from the same family ?!

Plus, if you give a discount now, one week in, it becomes the norm and you may find yourself giving that discount forevermore with that family.

On the other hand, it might encourage her to send the older kids more and the oldest is almost old.enough to be extra to your.numbers
