Default Really struggling with next steps!

I've got a little one leaving so am in the process of finalising his learning journey but I'm really struggling with next steps (always have done if I''m honest!) - Someone give me some inspiration - I have ordered the new Penny Tassoni's EYFS handbook in the hope this will guide me but I always seem to hit a brick wall - am I the only one??

Next steps for what? Is it just general or linked to an obs?

In my experience most people who struggle with next steps are trying too hard

Go back to basics - it's the stuff you do every single day...

John makes shapes in the playdough - you'd sit with him and teach some new shape words... get out the shape jigsaws if he seemed interested... read a shape book with him later

Jane wraps her dollies - how would you support Jane? You'd give her some new blankets or bring the buggy in so she can take them for a walk.

yes I think you're right Sarah - trying too hard! I just feel a bit stupid putting obvious stuff (if that makes sense!) - thanks for your examples x
