    Default IKEA shelving unit

Im thinking of buying the Ikea Expedit shelving unit (the one which is 25 squares - http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00208646/) along with the Lekman boxes http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90059618/ (although I probably will leave a couple of them empty and possibly put doors on a couple as well...)

Does anyone have either of these - if so please can you share your thoughts on them?

Its a really big outlay and I want to make sure they will stand the test of time and be big enough to hold all the toys inside them.....

I use the expedit units.... I've had mine for about five years and they have been great -they stay sturdy even after being moved to different locations and rooms. The laminate on them wears off where the boxes are pulled in and out and leaves patches but that doesn't really matter as boxes are in there - the laminate top scratches if you put plastic boxes etc on and pull them along it -

I have sea grass baskets in mine so can't comment on the plastic boxes..... Jen x

We had the boxes when mine were little, great storage although they are a little deep and the kids tipped them over to get to what was at the bottom!!

I have these in varying sizes , they are really good, in the largest one i have it turned longways and have left out the dividers, so that i can put more clear stacking boxes in, and the top serves as a nice long "shelf" at child level.

My last inspector commented on how tidy and accessable it was

I have that exact one with the 25 boxes it's fab & I love it, we have the red & blue Lekman boxes, they are quite sturdy if you don't overload, we have doors all along the bottom & doors scattered around, I really want a smaller version for other side of my dining room to get rid of two sideboards full of my own stuff

I have 2 of these and 2 of the small 4 square ones. They are really durable. I put them to the test they get dragged around weekly as I can never decide how i like my playroom best.
You can fit loads in the boxes.
I love mine, I would highly recomend!
You can’t have everything. Where would you put it?

I have the 4x4 and the 2x4 on top. And use various boxes. Had it for about 5 years and love it!
