    Default First days with mindees

So I've only done a few days with 3 different children but everytime I have found the first day awkward. So it's led me to post and see what you guys do and if I'm missing something or if its simply that its all new to me.

Do you do anything different in that first day/week? how do you make the mindees feel at ease etc. I know it changes as you get to know each other as it has with my little experience but just putting it out there for feedback.

It can be really hard when new children start especially if you don't know them.

I always plan some 'getting to know you' type activities and games and help them to do a 'my first days' style scrap book with hand prints, stories about what they enjoy doing etc.

Some don't want to of course but the activity is there... plus find out as much as you can about their home routine so you know when they will be hungry etc.

    Good luck!
