An olympic torch with handprint flames.

    Bronze/silver/gold handprint 'medals'.

Have stuck brain now. That's this week's idea!

Have thought about making some medals for the children to wear, making some collages of different sports, putting together a set of Olympic rings and talking about the colours etc with the LO's. Have also got a "sports day" in mind in the garden with some medals for the winners.

    Hope that helps.

We are having our own Olympics day. Mindees are 1.5. We are having an obstacle race (one at at time) Throw bean bags into different coloured buckets- diff points for each buckets. Hurdles - jumping over sticks. Shot putt -Throwing a tennis ball etc. Regardless of who does best all children will receive a certificate and a medal saying winner. This covers lots of the EYFS areas.

Our food is based on the circles for the olympic logo -Pizza, Tomatoes, cucumbers, mini baby bel, circle sandwiches, ringed biscuits (may decorate our own too)

We are also making torches - the older ones (maybe the los) will design their own GB tshirt, mascot etc Ive done displays, banners with my setting name on using olympic letters. Found this website that has some fab resources for children of all ages

    Hope this helps ?
