    Default Help needed, please.

I have a mindee who is almost four and has some problems with his speech. I have made an appointment with someone from my local borough to come to my house and meet with him on Friday and see what, if any, help he might need.

I am trying to think of a good activity I could prepare for him to be getting on with whilst she is here so that he can be involved and relaxed and that will also give him lots of opportunities to speak.

    Any ideas?

It's hard not knowing what his interests are, but how about

doing a story with story props, so he can act out/retell bits of the story with you.

ask parent to provide a 'chatter bag' on the day, a small bag with items from home that he can tell you about - where were they from, what are they for, who gave them to him etc etc.

set up a role play area - shop, vet, doctor, post office etc and play accordingly with him!

Print off some pictures of things you have done together recently and show her together, encouraging him to explain what was happening, where you were and so on?

Dunno if that helps! Good luck
