    Default No contract= not insured?

Just want to check- if a childminder cares for a child (on a regular basis, not just as a one off) without a contract in place, does this mean they are not insured?

Yes I am sure that not having a contract in place would invalidate the Childminder's insurance.

you dont have to have a contract in place but obviously it protects you and the parent etc,, I would check with your insurance company

Contracts can be verbal as well as written (although written is better).

I agree with mushpea - contact your insurers for advice.

Thank you ladies, it's okay it's not for me, just someone I know doesn't have a contract in place with their childminder so I thought i'd check as I don't want them to send LO there without a contract if it means there's no insurance. There's no way i'd mind without a contract in place!!!
