I was always told 6 months although we stopped boiling my dd's water when she was about 8 months - she was sticking everything she found straight in her mouth anyway

I thought it was a year but read on nhs website earlier that after 6 months there's no need. I have 7 month old starting tomorrow so will ask mum in morning if she still boils it.

I would say when they start drinking the water from the water play tray (the one with bubbles, food colouring and a sprinkling of sand in)

I stopped when my ds started putting EVERYTHING in his mouth! If I turned my back for 2 seconds he'd be licking the soles of shoes. Not much point in boiling water after that lol

Yep same with me, no point boiling water if they are grabbing anything for their mouth! Kids need some germs...
