After recently attending a course on planning with EYFS some of us decided to do a spider chart for planning for each month. On here we would out things like toddler grps/park/shops etc and then link in some planned activities taken from my next steps from the childrens observations. If we wanted to plan an activity around a certain area of learning we would also initial this next to the activity.

The chart can be done weekly, fortnightly or even just monthly and can be added to at any time
