time off for sons operation!

my son has had to go in for a small operation on monday and i have taken yesterday and today off to help him recover. When i told the parents initially i booked it as holiday but really i want it as sick leave, is it ok to change it as its not really holiday, its unpaid leave!! i hope that makes sense!!

Ah i see you booked the days as holidays but dont want to waste your holidays and would sooner take it as unpaid leave.

Think you need to talk to parents as you have booked it as holidays and see if they mind. I suppose it depend on what you have in your contract on timescale to changes . I would think that they wouldnt mind I know I wouldnt but people are strange.
