Default Just about to start my SEF.....lets see how long it takes!

I have just finished reading Sarah's brilliant e-book on how to complete your SEF.

I have decided that since I am due my first graded inspection next month, that I am for once going to be really organised and have my SEF completed before I even get the phone call

I am hoping that if I do it bit by bit each day that it wont feel like such a huge task

I will update the thread once I am completed.........

The SEF is not currently a requirement - however it is good practice to start using it to show that you are constantly evaluating your provision.

Before your first inspection you will be able to talk about what you have done and how it helps children to achieve.

Later you will talk about how you have changed things to improve your working practice.

    Go for it AgentTink!

I am in exactly the same position although I know my inspection will be booked in in the next two weeks so I am frantically trying to get ready. I have made it to quality of provision which isnt far at all and ive been working on it 3 nights!

Hope it goes well for you! x

You don't have to complete the Ofsted sef BUT you do have to show how you evaluate and reflect on your practice, how you know what your strengths and weaknesses are - what you need to improve and how you intend to do it.

The Ofsted sef is long-winded, repetitive and poorly worded in my very humble opinion but it does make you think about what you do and why you're doing it.
I'd recommend Sarah's e-book to help decipher it!

    Miffy xx
    Keep smiling!
