    Default SEF - positive contribution

    Got most if this sorted but I am flumoxed with:

    Respond to the expectations of others!

    Have a complete block? any suggestions?

    When you have your initial meetings and subsequent meeting with parents you ascertain their requirements for caring for their child and you record this on the childs records. You then regularly, through the use of daily diaries and conversations confirm the meeting of these expectations alongside confirming your own policies and methods of practice.

    You respond to the children's requests for play materials and ideas for activities thereby ensureing child lead activities as well as adult initiated ones.

    I agree with Penny... this is a particularly tricky question.

    The new version of the SEF (in free downloads at the top of the forum) words it slightly differently...

     the extent to which children respond to the expectations of those who work with them

    That makes it a bit easier... how do children react if you ask them to do something or help you or read a book with you...

    Those sorts of things you can tell through your ongoing observations
