Default Updating old style SEF onto new form?

I completed my last SEF on a word document of the form in 2013 and rather than e mailing it,( because of last minute serious pc issues!) made a hard copy for my inspector to view. She was happy with this, but advised that next time, I e mail it in advance of inspection. I've always found it easier to make notes by hand and have a lot of new bits of info written down, but the main body of my SEF won't have changed much at all.
Now that the form has changed, and there are new questions, I'm not sure whether to copy my original SEF into the relevant bits of the new form and add updated info (maybe in a different colour?), or send them two documents i.e the old one and a new updated one?At the moment, I'm thinking that copying and pasting from old form to new is the way to go, as the original one took absolutely ages, and I don't want to duplicate info that I already have..., but also need to show that I'm thinking about my practice and making improvements etc...what would you do?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated...thank you!

I moved mine around - I found that most of the paragraphs fitted into the new one and then I added a few new bits

That's good to know, Sarah ; doing it that way will save me loads of time and effort and much hair pulling! I might even edit it a bit as I tend to waffle...inspector must have speed-read the original one, or she'd have been bored silly by page 2! Your guidance document is very helpful too (as was the previous version), thank you x

You can submit whenever you want- I tend to update mine every 6-12mths and submit then. You can do it more often if you want. SEF is never 'finished' as you are continually changing and adjusting and developing your practice. It is a continual, on going cycle of thinking of improvements, doing them, evaluating, changing again... You just document on the SEF whenever you want and press Submit at whatever time you like.

mumofone when I first started to complete my sef I was always afraid to submit in case it alerted them that I exisedt and they would think 'let's inspect her'. I think I may not be alone in that initial thought. I typed one line in mine last week and submitted.

Haha thanks BallyH, there is that!!
Im worried if I say I do something in my SEF that I am then held to it on the day of inspection so am wondering how much information to include or leave out (if that makes sense!!) x
