Another question re risk assessments - sorry!

Hi

Just trying to do my risk assessments. Should I base them on how my house/garden was before my registration visit when the inspector advised the few things that I needed to do - this way it shows that I have done what she has advised? Or should it be how my house is now that I have made all the changes?

I would record somewhere that you have made the changes - even if only in your diary or a note in your professional development file.

However the ones you are going to use for childminding should be based on the environment at the time.

I recorded mine by doing my main RA (called annual - but in fact done when ever there is a change - the annual bit refers to the max time between doing)before pre reg and then again as I started minding - so changes were recorded. Maybe you could back date and do one as things were pre reg and then another for now.

However I would not make extra work for yourself - and it really is not vital.

I would do your RA's based on how your house/garden is now. Then on a separate sheet of paper I would put "Changes made since pre-reg inspection" and then just list what you have done and the date you did it.

That way your RA's are current and you have a note of what the inspector advised and that you carried it out.
