    Default regular outings RA

I am just starting to write up all my RA's in preparation for starting childminding, i have been at it all day and my mind is blank. I am writing my regular trips and outings, now i know everyone does different trips but i cant think or any more at the moment. So far i have done, school run, local park, toddler groups, shopping.

I have had enough and cant believe you have to write so many RA's, surely most of it is common sense!!

    Thanks in advance. Amy x

Yes most of it is common sense but do make sure you have it written down as well!

It depends where you go - shops, ducks, library, park...

i think you only need to RA your home and garden now luv and you're done. i don't have more than a dozen. have you done your outings RAs along the lines of when we walk there, drive there etc i know these are the risks and who can get hurt potentially but what you will do to minimise the risk? it really is quite simple. some ppl on her do far too many RA's and i've no idea who told them they should have so many. i have even seen CMs go up and write down the date a fire extinguisher was checked in a venue and who by. now that is ridiculous!

I have a home and outside area RA, and daily risk assessment checklist (i guess i still have to have the seperate RA's even though im doing the daily check?). My regular outings RA, other outings RA, Pets RA and a seperate one for walking and going out in the car.

Is there anything else i need?

do you have a generic one saying that you will check equip, toys resources etc before and after use and if you find any damaged to repair or throw away and how often you will give them a good clean? looking for kite marks etc when buying equip, toys etc, not having out resources a child can choke on unless you can give 100% supervision etc. regular tidy up time to keep floors clear etc. same for outdoors

no not really, so long as you have it somewhere. you sound on top of your game sweetie. now all you have to do is review them annually or when an incident arises. an incident need not change anything as you've probs done everything you could to minimise. if you review your RAs and nothing needs changing, just re-date and re-schedule. simples.

I find the following Ofsted checklist useful

I had my inspection on Tuesday and she contradicted what is mentioned of the ofsted website. I had completed a RA for every group that I attend. I do it in September each year and update it if I have any changes in children but she told me that I need to do one for each time I go and that I also need to get a copy of the RA that the group will have completed before we go as well.
