    Default Daily Checklist/Risk Assessment

I have been reading up on risk assessments - what more does a girl do on a Sunday night?!

I have a Daily Checklist that I use already and most of what is on here is suggested for a Risk Assessment, of the house at least. I have on my Daily Cheklist such things as Stairs and floors clear and clean, towels out, (my children's) small things/toys put away, all windows locked, keys available at adult height etc.

If I rename my Checklist as Daily Risk Assessment, do you think this will do? It seems silly for me to carry out a risk assessment of the house when I do it really anyway, just under a different name.

    Thanks

Back again. I think I have worked out how to attach my checklist which is now my risk assessment!!

I made it myself so there are no copyright issues etc. Please feel free to use and adapt it as it suits.

My son and daughter's rooms upstairs are registered, hence they are on there. But I only ever tick those off if I have over 5s that are allowed upstairs.

Sorry to be negative but shouldn't shaving foam be put away as part of your daily checklist of your bathroom?

Saying that this whole risk assessment business is getting totally out of hand. Oh to go back to minding where common sense was all that was needed.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Our local childminding group which meets in the sure start centre regularly uses shaving foam as a sensory experience for children.

It is just one of a range of things children might enjoy exploring, especially if you do not feel food is appropriate.

The Eyfs says we must risk assess everything a child comes into contact with so if you are going to use shaving foam for activities, it must have a RA

That is great Marion, thank you for sharing!

I think Marion 123 probably uses shaving foam for activities, such as mark making. some of these activities do leave me a bit flabbergasted though!

    Helenlc

Mine is just like yours a checklist - ( but I have adapted mine like Sarah to have one A4 sheet displaying a month. I have 5 boxes (weeks) and 25boxes (days) so just tick .do we have to note any actions taken on this form too...not much room left !!!!

Anyway my question is that I have check garden equipment etc on daily sheet but if weather not good and we don't go out does it matter if a box doesn't get ticked every day..Not sure about doing a monthly one as going in the garden is as and when the weather is good???

Think I have got my head around this RA now...

do we have to get parental permission for using shaving foam etc? have been putting it off because i've been worried about skin reactions.

do you let parents know you're using it, get their permission or do you just do it?

    Thanks
