Husband as assistant - records to be kept?

Hello,

I am in the process of registering and plan for my husband to register as my assistant.
Will I need to record when he is here? Like an attendance register? He does work during the day so would I record him being here from when he gets up in the morning (?) until he goes to work at 8.30am then again in the afternoon when he comes home at 4.00pm until the last child leaves (?)
I am finding it a bit confusing

I don't and never have and Ofsted have never questioned it in any of 3 inspections.

So then I probably wouldn't record the morning because although he is my assistant he wouldn't be working, he would be having breakfast, getting ready to go to work etc. But when he comes home from work I would record it as he would be helping me then whilst I cook etc.

I don't record when my assistant works because I am always within my ratios... however I note it on her wage sheet for tax / expenses purposes so the information is there to be found
