Sorry Another Assistant Question

I work along side my mum. we both live in the same house and are both registered childminders.

whilst working alone we are allowed 6 children under 8 of these 3 can be under 5 and one of these can be under 1

when working together we are allowed 6 children under 8 of these 6 can be under 5 and 2 of these 6 can be under 1

I hope this makes sense so far.

My mum has 2 weeks holiday booked in November and we have had a sudden panic that we will have to turn some of our mindees away for those 2 weeks.

We have thought about taking on my sister as an assistant. She is already CRB checked as we got it all done when we registered by filling in form EY2.

How do we go about making her an assistant. do we have to fill in the form again or is there another one to fill in

Also we want to get a variation so that we can mind the 6 under 5 when working with an assistant

Another added bonus is that my sister already holds a first aid certificate as she works in a nursery at present.

Sorry if this has been answered in someone elses thread. I have had a look but just trying to get my head around it.

I'm only guessing but looks like your sis is already registered as your assistant by you filling out the EY2 form, best to check with Ofsted though x

it will say on your certificate if there are 2 assistants
