Yes - from the start you have to agree and write down who is going to be responsible for what and which expenses for tax purposes- I would presume that the one who's house you are operating from would have to work out her bills and then you would have to divide the proportion allowable by two and the other would have to pay that amount out of her income - Does that make sense?? You could share your policies etc but you would both have to have your own copies. You would each also have to have particular children registered to you personally (I think) - I'm sure there are others who on here who have either experience of this or know of others who have - I remember their being a thread on this subject a few years ago when I first joined the forum. Keep checking back - there are also a few on here who are pretty hot on the subject of tax etc.

    All the best!!!

So we couldn't mind the children between us, we would have to act as seperate minders in same setting?

In your opinions is it better to be 2 minders working in same setting or have an assistant?

    Thanks

I'm not 100% sure - I think it would make more sense to be able to share the children - I suppose you would have to have a special type of Contract that states that both minders would be responsible for each child so that if you only had 3 under 5 between you then only one of you need work and it wouldn't matter which one!!!

I'm not the person to give you advice on this wait and see if someone with more knowledge comes along!!!

There is a minder on here who works with another registered minder but he has another job in term time and his main responsibility is to is own afterschool children as far as I can make out - so that is slightly different to the situation you are thinking about - good look, i hope someone who knows more will be along soon.
