more than 1 assistant

Do I need ofsted approval to have 2 assistants working at the same time? My registration used to say when working with an assistant I could have 6 under 5 and 12 under 8 but I had a variation to have 7 under 5 one day a week. I want the possibility of having 8 one day with 2 assistants ( my floor space is fine) but do I need to ask Ofsted?

You need to make your own judgements about ratios - but you do need to go through the assistant registration process with Ofsted as normal if you take on a new one -

3 can work together in one home. 1 childminder with 2 assistant's is fine. But you need to fill in EY2 forms for both. In my last home, there were 2 childminders and 1 assistant, Ofsted told me there could be no more!

My assistants are all CRBd and approved with Ofsted and all the children are existing children - my dilema is do I need Ofsted permission to have 2 of them working at the same time ? Or can myself and my assistant have a variation each so we have 4 each? We previously had a variation for 7 .
I don't want to break any rules but with the rules being so vague !!??!
