    Hi
So sorry to hear that you've been having such a terrible time
I am shocked on so many levels. that a registered childminder behaves in this way, that she has been accepted as a NVQ placement, that the apprentice company have not pulled you out of that placement the second they heard what was going and reported the situation to Ofsted immediatly, that the NVQ company cannot give more than a month off without affecting your training (bearing in mind your placement situation and medical history).....
I hope they do find you a new placement very very quickly, with someone who loves their job and the children that they care for.

Thank you all so much it's so nice to have support from you all. I have some good news finally!! I had a job interview this morning and I was offered the position on the spot!!!! I then got straight on the phone to ofsted for nearly two hours and poured my diary out to them and they were not happy bunnies!! They have told me to hand in my notice effective immediately so I'm going to do that first thing!!! I can't wait to start my new job next week in a beautiful nursery with lovely staff and the equipment and learning resources they have are out of this world!!! Thank all you lovely lovely people for your support, I have had an awful few months and your kind words has given me the confidence to go to ofsted xx

Congratulations and well done for being some brave and speaking to Ofsted - whilst none of us would like to receive a visit from them based on a complaint the situation you were in sounded terrible and I hope the apprenticeship people don't send her another apprentice for her to treat as a slave. Let us know how you get on with handing in notice tomorrow!

Can you explain a little more on how the apprentice scheme works as I have a teenage daughter doing A levels this year and most of the jobs on the job centre site seem to be for apprentices these days - I know you don't get paid very much, do you just do all your training on the job or do you have to go to college too?

    Thank you all

Hector's house I don't personally go go college I have an assessor that visits me at work on once a month, the money is not great £2.65 an hour and up to 40 hours a week, you and still entitled to holiday pay like everyone else however if you get less than £107 a week you don't get SSP if you were to need it, also the general rule is you have to do your nvq work in your time and not at work If there is anything else please message me id be happy to try and help xx

Well done on tge new job brilliant news remember we are still here for advice, we are a pretty friendly lot even for those crossing to the dark side lol
So so glad you reported to ofsted, well done for having your diary, those poor children don't deserve the type of 'care' that childminder is giving.

Thanks all I have asked ofsted to notify of their investigation and they said I can access the report online once it has been done so I will be keeping my eyes peeled for it!!! This new nursery has the most amazing equipment and the children seem so happy and settled and the meals are amazing!! The difference is huge!!!! The quality of care and food offered in my old position really came to light when I saw how my new position operates. I have posted my letter of resignation so i am waiting for some abusive texts and calls and I don't think I will be paid from her but luckily my partner is very clued up on employment laws xxxx

I feel very sad that the childminder should even think it is ok to get her nail done!! Also the poor children let alone you! Sending hugs and please try again, we really aren't all that bad!

Quick update for you all I have received my wages and 8 months of payslips today along with a vile letter saying she was advised to sue me for loss of earnings, my behaviour and attitude regarding this was awful and she won't be providing a reference for me not that I have asked for one x
