    A book that my 3 children all loved and the children i mind is The Tiger Who Came To Tea.Its quite an old fashioned book but the kids love it and i do to

    sarah i cannot believe you don't know this book it's written by the same woman who wrote the mog books judith kerr

    it is sooo sweet although my hubby has just said he thinks mum was just manipulating the father into taking them out for tea

    mum drank all of dad's beer and for sophie's sake dad took them out rather than let her starve.
    he says the mother was such a bad housewife that she couldn't be bothered to go shopping for the familyand obviously suffered form alcohol dependence and was a chronic fantasist too and insisted on making up stories about where all of the food had gone.

    I have an original copy of this book from the 70s which was mine as a child, I originally used it when I started minding but it is so popular with the children that I've bought a new hardbacked copy as the original was getting a little worn.

    We love it too. My dd 2yrs can almost remember the words of the story from start to finish just by looking at the pictures, it's been read that much.
