Default IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING YOUR PROFILE

You may remember that to keep out the spammers a security question was added to profiles, it is a simple one that a human would know but not a spam bot.

This question needs to be added back into your profile since the upgrade. It is very easy to do and I have included a screenshot to help you.

Note: If you joined after 30th Dec 2011 you will have already added this when you registered so you don't need to do it again.

If you have any problems at all please do ask as I am happy to help.
Unless you add this answer you will receive error messages if you update your profile, change email address etc.

    OK so ....

    1. Click on your UserCP (left in the row of options below where you log in)
    2. Click on "Edit details"
    3. In the box that appears there are three things at the top, option to edit your email address, your date of birth and the special question about the first letter of childminding.

    4. Simply answer that question
    5. Scroll down to the bottom and click SAVE

    Simples

To get rid of the message that keeps reminding you, just click the red cross in the top right hand corner.

Note: If you cannot add the answer, just let me know and I will add it for you.

This picture (click on it to make it larger) explains a bit more, but I could not add a pic of the save button as it was too big a picture

Ah, you are not doing anything wrong Nancie, new members cannot access their profiles (hadn't thought of that!) it is another feature to keep the spammers out.

I will do it for you

    Hi Emma

you won't need to add the question as you have registered today and added it at registration

If you let me know what wants editing in your post I will do it for you, these restrictions only last a short time and then you will be able to do things yourself, it is all to keep spammers out. Full details in the members information section

Hi Sue thank you for your first post!

Scrap That!! I have already done it, I like the plum I am did not realize that putting the letter C in the box was actually the security question! Sorry for wasting your time Pauline. Shakes head and mutters whilst smacking herself in the head with an idiots guide to computers........ (i dont actually own an idiots guide to computers may be a good idea to invest in one hummmm)

Hi Pauline I cant do it after swearing at my laptop for about an hour i am none the wiser. I have done as you have instructed but cant find the box with the security code anywhere, i've checked every bit of my profile and thers nothing on the e-mail address and password section. Plus my laptop only shows half the picture you have linked. Also everytime I go to a new page it tells me im not logged in, so I have now logged in for the hundreth time and still can do it. I am going to log out and come back tomorrow and try again but i would be very grateful if you could help.
    Thankyou
    Tara xx

LOL don't worry, it is all a learning curve

As regards being logged out, try ticking the 'remember me' box as you log in that often helps.
