Jen you ought to have let me know - you should be Amber. The system must have missed you.

Green is a different thing that doesn't happen automatically, you have to meet the criteria then ask for membership.

I will turn you amber in a tick!

seems the goal posts have change when i joined it was 100 post & 60 days & intro now 90 days & 300posts & intro ......now i feel i will never get to be a full member , i think the criteria should be for when you became a member date wise , not keep changing?
    Bit like ofsted, changes mind
I am trying to fing the thread with discussion about changing to read up and see what i missed,,just disapointed here

I can't please everyone but I can please those that share some very private information in the full member area and they asked that the criteria be changed and I listened.

Sadly some people will feel upset at the changes, especially when it means they have to wait longer but the privacy of members is my top priority.

Sorry but rules have to be set and we can't have it running from a members join date, for instance: Someone could have joined the forum way back in 2006 and never posted since, I wouldn't feel happy if they returned today and got into full members with just 10 days and 10 posts (as that was what the criteria was back then!)

    Hope you understand

any chance of a vote for this to be looked at so it could be considered with more recent poster as your previous example would have been on the old board wouldn't it, and all had to rejoin as i did
I can not find the thread with the discussion about changeing criteria, please could someone direct me please

I understand how you feel as when I joined last year the same happened to me, and tbh it really put me off even posting, I felt very unwanted and I do agree it should be done on date only, but others don't feel the same.

Stick with it, you'll be a full member before long x

Is there an official list anywhere that tells you what membership happens when?

All I want to be able to do is post some pictures of my beautiful puppy!

There was a poll about this - in full members - and the consensus of opinion is the system that we now have.

Pauline works really hard to take everyone's views into account but on this occasion it was the views of full members that won out.

Please carry on talking to us - you will soon make it to full members

I think some of you are missing the point on what being a full member is all about.

although there is a post count criteria before being considered for access, that is not really what it is about. Anyone can post any old rubbish to up their post count (and believe me they do!) they do this just to try to get into the full member area.

But to me it is about being here, making friends with the other members by posting and chatting, then, when you meet the criteria everyone is keen to have you in there and look forward to continuing the chat on a more personal level.

If some people were given access today even with a high post count, they would be like a fish out of water as they would hardly know anyone and, I'm sure you agree, that a stranger would not be wanted in an area where we post very private information.

The best thing anyone can do is join in, chat and get to know everyone.

    Thanks Dee you're a star.

Pauline, You are doing a great job, I like the system you use. I like the idea that people have to show commitment before moving to full membership.

    I agree with Pauline

They are the reasons that make our forum different to others

We are REAL people who make real friendships we get to know each other and help one another

Some people are happy to join and post rubbish just to get at our resources - but we dont like sharing them with people we dont know - WHY SHOULD WE?

If people join for the resources alone then that is unfair we all put a lot of work into providing them.

If you are here for all the reasons that Pauline mentions? -and you are intending to stick around anyway a short wait is not going to hurt is it ?

    Thank you Lucy.

I am really glad that you understand why we are so cautious.

At the rate you are going you will get there in no time at all and will be a valued member to the full members area

The post count changed just before I was originally due to be a full member and it didnt put me off gassing in the slightest. I wanted to get to know all these wonderful people who had given me so much great advice and support and be able to give the same back. I am glad I did because the support is ongoing and fantastic and I have even been lucky enough to meet some members in the flesh (however posh they are )

So keep chatting and joining in - its a fab forum whatever status you are.

I'm loving the site but struggle to keep up with all the posts as it is. If there is more in the full members section then I think I'd need to clone myself to keep up!!!!!

Not sure if I am supposed to have turned a lovely shade of yellow yet?
Not that I'm worried, my favorite colour is red.
