Re: Catergorising toys???
I have tried (and failed) to do this a few times, I think the problem is some toys can be in more than 1 section/ catagory . Maybe soneone will have a system we can both adopt :D
Re: Catergorising toys???
The idea of doing this fills me with dread and I keep putting it off cause I cant work out what the simplest way would be.
I worry that if I could be accuses of being sexist or discriminatory in some way if I for example put the dressing stuff and multi cultural stuff in one catagory and the cars, air planes and trains together in anotherr It would be a hard enough chore without having to worry about all that PC stuff too.

I don't know if this is of any help, I have attached a booklet which I have done linking certain toys/activities to eyfs learning areas.

Thank you for that. I think thats a much better way of doing it then I can just make a picture list of toys I have underneath in each section and it wouldn't matter if they overlapped then IYSWIM.
Is that continuous provision? or am I completely off track with that one lol

It must have taken you a while to do!
I have been putting it off until now (was the last thing on my 'to do' list this week)! I have done my pictures just need to stick them all in a file.

Re: Catergorising toys???
thanks, this is brilliant and will really help with ideas for planning. As a newbie this is really helpful information and can only help us all be better at our jobs.
I was planning on doing something along the lines of a mini picture book with the different toys and activities and what I can use them for relating to EYFS so this will really help me get started.
thanks again.
