Odd Question
Hi all, I have just had a thought:idea: .
When ofsted come to visit do you have to stay at home with little ones?
Obviously you will need to be at home for Ofsted to see paperwork etc, but can you take ofsted out say to the park etc.
I ask as I have just booked the local sensory room for monthly sessions, and sods law dictates that I can guarantee that the Ofsted lady will want to come on that day:rolleyes: . So do you think she would be happy with a trip to the sensory room, or would we need to cancel it.
I haven't had an ofsted call yet, just thinking ahead.

Re: Odd Question
I don't think they'd go there with you. I know when people have had to do the nursery run etc, the inspector has waited in their car till the CM was back.
When they phoned me I told them which days I would be home & when I would be out & she fitted it in round that.

Re: Odd Question
Mi inspector was happy with the thought of coming out on a school run with us, but it wasnt necessary in the end so she didnt have to.
I have read reports where it is obvious that the inspector has been out and about but I guess it depends on the inspector

Re: Odd Question
Yes I agree I think most times they ask what days you are going to be in
Just explain to her that you are out on that day

Re: Odd Question
Not an odd question at all.
She should ask what days you are working/available.
I don't always work Mondays, toddler group Tuesdays, available Wed and Thurs and Network Co-ordinator coming Friday....she was fine with this and came Thursday.

Re: Odd Question
Yes, I agree. The only thing that you can do is to let her know what your plans are and then give her the choice. I would have thought that as long as she has seen your paperwork, she would be happy to come along and see what the children are learning, especially if it's something that you do with them on a regular basis. Anyway, good luck with it and try to 'go with the flow' - I know easier said than done!

Re: Odd Question
My inspector came with me and sat in the car whilst I ran in with the mindee to nursery. They are human and like to feel involved.

Re: Odd Question
Thank you ladies,
As I said, I haven't had a phone-call yet, just a random thought that popped into my head today.
