Rhyme and alliteration

I have a 40 month old who is interested in books and likes rhyming stories and nursery rhymes, etc but I'm not sure how to achieve the statement 'shows awareness of rhyme and alliteration'. I know he doesn't have to achieve every statement but it would be good to have some ideas of how to go about this. My own children just got rhyming by us reading lots of books and playing lots of silly rhyming games but I spend a lot more time with my kids so it's things we do all the time.

Anyway, any suggestions would be great.

I think what you do with your own children is the best way - so do this when LO is with you.
There are lots of games you can make and buy but it is my experience that children 'get' rhyming and alliteration by constant chatter and spontaneous games as they play. Plus quality rhyming books and poems. Make it fun as well is the way to go.
