DBS help please!
Hi everyone
This is my first post as I am new to the idea of childminding so please be gentle!
I am trying to do a budget and figure out my costs regarding necessary DBS checks. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere but I couldn't find it.
As I understand it, I will need to get a DBS check for myself and also for anyone over 16 who lives in my house.
I have two questions:
1. It looks like you can get DBS checks free for 'volunteers'. I was wondering if my 17 year old daughter would count as a 'volunteer' and therefore can I get her check for free? She fits the criteria of 'not benefitting directly from the position' and I am certainly not going to pay her!
2. I think I need an umbrella body to process the DBS, is that right? Which is the cheapest one?
Any ideas on either of these questions would be SO helpful!
Thank you

You will need to get DBS checks through here - Ofsted DBS Application - Security Watchdog - Step One - for all family members... this is the Ofsted DBS disclosure you can't use any others.
I hope your registration goes smoothly! :D
