Hi everyone, not sure of the situation with twins.2 Currently Ive got a nearly 3 year old boy of my own and I care for a 2 year old girl 4 days a week. My son goes to pre school for a couple of afternoons.
I have been asked from a new family to look after 6 month old twins, can I look after them under the continuity of care as do twins count as one?
I have enough cots, highchairs etc and a big enough car and pushchair etc.

You can take twins under 1 following the rules of the Eyfs BUT you must have 2 spaces in your under 5s to take on 2 new children.

Twins are two children and always count as 2 children. If you want to take on twins you need 2 spaces.

If these parents want you to look after their twins they would be very helpful if they had all the facts from Ofsted
At an Ofsted Big Conversation meeting last week Gill Jones - deputy director of Ofsted - was clear that Ofsted do not advise on the Eyfs or variations.
It is up to the childminder to read the Eyfs and follow the rules as stated in the Eyfs.
2 children = 2 spaces. If you want to take on 2 new children under 5 you need 2 spaces under 5.
