The revised SEN requirements will be in place from September 2014 - all childminders will need to make changes to their SEN policies to comply with the updated wording in the Eyfs 2014 and the Children and Families Bill.
If you haven't been offered training yet, now is a good time to ask your LA how they are going to support you.

Thanks Sarah. Everyone ends to be aware if this and get their Local Offer's into their LA by their deadline.
If people haven't heard of this, get in touch with your LA. They should know about it and be running training as they have to submit their own local offer

The LA has profiles on us all on a county-wide early years/childcare website for parents to search for childcare already, so the idea is if our Local Offer is on our own website and we link our own websites to our Profile on the LA website then it is all available for parents.
I don't have a website so my Local Offer is in my portfolio for anyone who asks.
Yes that's pretty much the same. Our LA uses 1Big Database so will add our local offer to the info they already put on there. There's also another local SEN website which will contain this info. LA's still have to do their own local offers to show what they offer parents with children with SEN.Quote:
