Colour and shade topic

We have been working on colours and colour mixing with our pre-schoolers and decided to take it a step further with our after school kids...
The attached pic shows what a 6 year girl old did with very little guidance from me...
We had circle, diamond and heart patterns drawn out to choose from and they chose what main colour to work with. They then took the lead with deciding on what shades to use and whether to use felt pens, crayons or pencils.
I was very impressed with how well this activity went!

And another which I thought was great...my after schoolers always exceed my expectations with how much they concentrate and get involved with activities we offer!

That's really good and a simple idea but really effective:). My older ones would love this, onr particular girl loves colouring and this would be right up her street.
