our unplanned day!

I love it when planning goes out of the window and we go with the flow. Today - they all decided to have a picnic with the toy food , then asked if we could have a real picnic for lunch. By the time we had all prepared it together it was raining so a picnic on the floor then a craft session - the little one wanted to make a rainbow ( there was one in the garden ) , they all colour sorted the bits and bobs tub , and a rainbow emerged!
I think it worked so well as Ive a real mix of ages in the hols , from 8 down to 2. Everyone got involved , and we even made it into a display . we seem to have talked about everything from healthy foods to seasonal weather!

Unplanned day's are the best aren't they?. That is lovey and i bet the children enjoyed their indoor picnic :thumbsup:

This is why my planning is rubbish as generally we go with the flow. Today we bagsied front seats at the top of a double decker bus. one child had never been upstairs so was loving it, waving at the cars etc. so rather than get off at mine and have lunch, we continued on and had an adventure, pretending to be on a pirate ships mast lol Bought us a tide us over picnic and went home later.

the best days are unplanned i find!! you make all the effort and then the kids want to do it or rather do something else. Looks really good
