Help with Salt dough
Hi I am making some items out of salt dough, but i have never made it before. Anyone have a good recipe?
Also can i add food colouring to the water i am adding to colour the dough - will this work or is it better if i paint them? What type of paints will i need?
Thanks

My recipe is very simple, but pinned to the board in the kitchen. I think it's one cup of flour, half of salt and ha;f of water. I've never tried colouring the water, we microwave ours on low and then paint them once they've cooled. Somewhere I've seen a lovely recipe that used cornflour which made pure white dough, must dig that one out soon!

I use this recipe
2 cups of plain flour
2 cups of salt
1 cup of water
Just put the flour and salt in bowl and slowly mix in the water.
When i was then rolling the dough and breaking pieces off I would flour the table and flour my hands. If the mixture was still too sticky i would keep dipping my hands in flour until i could the roll the mixture out without it being too sticky.
I then put oven on 100 degrees C and left in oven for 2 hours
I painted them with normal children's paint and they look fab
