Number lines
Please does anyone have any suggestions for how to make a number line in the house/garden?
I have just received a big bag of mega pegs and I thought they would be great in a number line but I am just not sure how to safely make one?
It would have to be in my dining room. My first thought was simply a line of string attached to the wall. But how?
Does anybody have a number line inside?

I have some decorated laminated numbers attached to little Christmas card pegs and string and held on the window with suckers.
I also make number lines with the children using things we have collected on walks, leaves from the garden etc. We lay them out on the conservatory window ledge usually.
I also do number lines against the fence outside, again using little pegs and string and usually pictures of animals or things the children are into like cars or boats.
Is that the kind of thing you mean? :D

Yes thanks Sarah, that's what I mean.
Really silly question but how would you attach the string to the wall? I am worried that drawing pins would be pulled straight out with the weight of the number line!

you can get those sucky hooks that fix to walls doors and windows...

I have a number line across my bottom kitchen cupboards.
I've laminated the numbers and stuck them on with blu-tack - mindees can move them around so works just as well as a string line.
Miffy xx

My number line is a piece of string tied to the fireguard (fire not used).
I laminate number pictures of things to go with theme (or just ramdon ones sometimes) and the children peg them onto line with normal clothes pegs.

Thank you for the ideas.
I love the idea of using the fireguard!
