Looking for a co-minder
Hello everyone,
I am a new childminder with lots of children to look after, I need help! :)
I would love to find another childminder to come and join my setting.
I am a Montessori teacher, so if I find somebody that knows a little about the method/philosophy it would be a bonus!!
Where do I advert? Any idea? Anybody living in NW London and would like to get in touch?
Looking forward to read any suggestion!! :)
Thank you

Hi
Just saw your message and as a childminder with an assistant am curious to find out if its better to work with another childminder rather than just an assistant as am thinking I'd be happier with a childminder who knows what they're doing, but would you split the kids and they get paid by their parents etc, how would you work it as your still need to make a profit and for it to be worthwhile taking on somebody else?

Do you really want to work with someone else, or have someone work for you?
It can be lonely as a childminder, do you have any childminder friends you old meet up with? Or go to a local group?
I know a childminder locally (in Berkshire), who sounds like comes from a similar background. Maybe you would like to all to her. She s also a new minder.

How would you work out the finance side of things if you work with another minder ?

My LA has a section for job vacancies on their website. Might be a good place to start

I would be worried I u worked with another childminder when they have some children they would start up on their own and take some of your children which you advertised work hard for etc..... Awkward

I co-mind with my daughter and gave done this for 7 years. We are both childminders to all the children and share all the responsibilities but have found things each of us are better at , I am best at observations and planning and my daughter is best at arts and crafts . We both do the cleaning and tidying at the end of the day. It is brilliant to have somebody to discuss all aspects of childminding with, We share all the worries but also all the fun and laughter. My daughter still lives at home so is never late and can't pull a sicky which helps.
