    Question 'Keeping Children Safe' statement

    Hi All

I don't post new threads very much because I usually search the forum (or google!) and find the answer to my question every time but I need some guidance on this one.

I am registered on the Early Years and the Childcare Register. I believe I have all of the required policies, forms and documents in place for the EYFS but I have just taken on my first after school child (aged 7) so last night I read through the requirements of the Childcare Register again which stipulates that I need to keep the following three written policies:

    • A statement on keeping children safe
    • A statement on dealing with complaints
    • A written record of any complaints (with investigation results)

My question is; I already have comprehensive policies for Safeguarding and Complaints so do I have to prepare a separate statement for children older than the EYFS or can I use my existing policies? Common sense tells me that I can use my existing policies but I want to know what the best practice is.

Thanks in advance, you're all fab

Your existing Policies cover it all as long as you have them. The time for responding to complaints used to be different for each of the registers but now they are the same at 28 days which makes things more simple.
