You don't have to complete a SEF at all if you don't want to as long as you can demonstrate how you reflect on your practice.

Jill is in Scotland Ricky... bless her she does have to do it!!

Just take it one question at a time and put it into the computer then you can juggle things around later before you submit.

When I worked through it for my Scottish childminders e-book I noticed that the questions made a lot more sense than the English version so count yourself lucky!!

    Good luck!

I started filling mine in this afternoon and it's not as bad as I feared though I am struggling with 'areas of improvement' on some things

They don't waste any time in Scotland do they?

Good luck - I see Sarah has an e-book for the Scottish version too!

    Aww thanks folks

I have started to pop a few things in and jot other stuff down as i remamber it throughout the day then i will transfer to puta whwn i get a mo lol

The main thing is it asks what i will do to improve on things etc thats fine but asks for a date that you will review to see if youve ticked that box yet. What would be a realistic time scale for reviewing do you think??

LOL! I got this too and the other letter today! Shame as Ive done quite a bit of work on my self assessments aswell! Only been minding for 2 weeks but had previously written it around resources routines paperwork etc Ahh free time hehe. Since coming from my managers position I think its best to write bits each week or so and when the time comes for real just submit it after a read through. Better for the stress levels!!

I think that's what I'm going to do too, I've already done about half of it so will just add bits and pieces when I think of them, less stressful that way!!

I think I need to start looking at my SEF in case Ofsted decide to come soon.
Have been minding for 2 months now but it's such a scary thought to start.
I suppose you take it a bit at a time?
