    Default contract for seperated parents

I currently care for a child whos parents have recently seperated, the child is going to continue to attend on her current days, however on one day dad will be responsible for her and on the other her dad will be dropping her off but it is 'mums day' and she will be collecting her from me. With regards the contract should i have one for 'dads day' and one for 'mums day' or should i stick with the one contract and just add the arrangements to it? Any advice would be greatly received.

Sorry i cant help. That is an interesting question as who would you charge the late pick ups to if it were the other parent who was late and not the one who signed the contract

I have one contract signed by the person who will pay me.

I then have a list of 'people who can / cannot pick me up'.

I then have a diary and ask parents to note when they are coming so I can prepare the child.

Thanks for that, it is a bit of a confusing issue! the only other point is that they will each be paying individually for their seperate days.

If they are paying for separate days then I would do a contract with mum covering her day and the same for dad - it's a faff but the best way to cover yourself.

In this case I would have individual contracts.

If there are different invoices, for different people, then they should get their own individual contract

Personally, I think that you should have one contract with the specific arrangements signed by both parents.

I also think you should issue one bill and the parents need to sort out payment between themselves.

I say this because what if Dad has paid for his days but Mum has not? This will mean that Dad needs to go to work on Mum's day and brings child to drop off. Will your policy allow him to drop off as that day hasn't been paid for? But is that fair, he's paid for his day?!!

    Something to think about.
