    Hi there,
    I'm in the middle of writting my policies and procedures and was wondering if i'm better to make them short and sweet or to put as much info in them as possible?
    Its all abit overwhelming

    They can be as short and sweet as you want and should be in plain English.

    Use plain English, as simple as possible - but still saying what you need to say to ensure parents understand them - if too long there is a good chance they will not read them, if use big words or jargon there is a good chance they won't understand them. If too many a good chance they will forget what they have read and therefore may not remember the most importanrt points that you you need them to abide by.

    I'm Just going through my safeguarding policy and there just seems like there is so much info that could go into it. Just wondering what info is relevant to parents really.

    Make them as short as possible and easy to read but make sure you have the info that Ofsted need in them - like your safeguarding policy should also include the procedure to be followed if an allegation is made about you.
