    Hi Michelle,

I get my parents to sign at the end of the week. I've just had my childminder co-ordinator visit as my inspection is now 6 months overdue (last one Nov 07).

She told me that the attendance register is one of the welfare requirements but I've always had one since been minding (10 years).

You have to record the exact hours the child is with you but you don't have to have it signed.

I have always had my parents sign every week. It is good practice because bt signing they are confirming the hours the child is with you. Useful if there is an issue with fees. Its amazing how parents know every time they are early for pick up but forget the times they are late

It is also a good safe guarding tool because again by signing the parent is confirming the hours their child was in your care.

We do the same, record the exact hours each day, thern signed each week.

Make sure you keep these records (I can't remember how long for I know it is a long time 10-15 years I believe) This is all to do with safeguarding. There may be allegations made in years to come by the child, you can then show the exact time that the child was with you.

I get them signed every month when I give out bills... please check the register and sign to say the hours I have billed you are correct.

You keep them until the child is 21 Dave!
