    Default safeguarding procedures

i have been asked to explain to another adult what i would do in the event of suspecting a safeguarding issue and was just wondering if you ladies could possily help me put it into simple terms so the other adult would be completely aware of the procedures i would need to take.

would be gratefull of any input

your safeguarding procedures are about ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of a child.
you are aware (been trained) to recognise signs of abuse.
you will follow your Local safeguarding boards procedures.

if you suspected abuse, you have a duty to report this to your local safeguarding duty team.
    you would document (factually)
you would work with (ie share information) with the relevant professionals
you may or may not dicuss with the parents if you suspect or report - it depends on whether you think that the child will be placed in any more danger or risk of harm
you will remain calm, you will not question the child, even in the event of a disclosure
