someone better than me will be along soon, but I'm sure it has been said before about getting the parent to sign saying your reponsibility to the child starts when they arrive at your house or something like that.
sorry not much help
There is an independent arrival / departure form on www.bromleycma.org.uk
Just draw something up including behaviour agreement, what happens if there is a club, emergency procedure if child doesn't turn up... get everyone to sign.
I have 2 walk from the high school plus my own 2 and it works really well
good advice from Sarah xxx hope it works out for you x

Yes, I have a child who comes to me from another school.
I got parent to sign the form and I also gave parent and child a map of my route from school (2 different ones as on a Monday I have to go a different way).
I also say what I will do if child doesn't arrive by certain time etc.
Has happened a few times where child has not turned up (after school detention, sport, generally lagging behind daydreaming) and it has worked well - I have shown the parent that the policy works (I phoned parent to say Fred has not turned up, parent then phones school or child if child has phone).
Parent was impressed and said "We didn't have anything like this at the last CM's.
