Early Years Capital Grant

this is sooo not fare,

we need to ring our MP and tell them that why is it that depending on where you live depends if you get any of this goverment grant ,,,

its the goverment that is giving us this money NOT our LA

the LA'S are keeping our money to spend on otherthings like training,

does the goverment know what are LA'S are doing with our money?
will the goverment in future send cheques out instead of entrusting the moneys to LA'S?

if i said i will give you all £100 for xmas and sent it to each LA and you only got £50 or nothing then it would realy get your back up and mine!

im going to ring up again and ask why this is happening and tell my LA it is not there money to decide what to do with its mine and every other child care settings, and tell them if i dont get a sattisfoctory answer i will ring my MP

we dont want rubbish training we want the money to put EYFS into our practice not the surestart children centre that has its own extra moneys.

i was told the grant is to help deliver the EYFS so only for thoes working with this age group
also if you leave finish working with in 3 years then the grant has to be paid back? i would ask if i was you , dont want to have to pay it all back later.

ive been in contact with the councillor who is paying out this money in our area been told to apply for it and i can have a maximum of £1000 per child under 5 on my reg certificate ive totally stumped them as im registered for 6 as i have an assistan checked with her that it was £6000 was told yes yippee new laptop, camera, printer etc here i come!!

this is the lady i spoke to and emailed me its her i sent my application to ive applied for
a laptop
and a pc as kids cant use a laptop and i can use the laptop to plan and document everything as well as do my ou course you can also apply for a dvd player for the eyfs dvd
a digital camera + case for camera
camcorder
dictaphone
outdoor climbing frame as my local play area doesnt have one
printer
scanner
software for pc
and a outdoor playhouse to use when weather is bad
just got to wait now to see how its goes
was told by her though that if approved they pay money direct toy you for you to get the items hope it helps you

i then phoned my local council
ask for children and young adults department and they should put you in touch with right person (hopefully)

i spoke to shropshire they using the money to help playschools get out of village halls if there is any money left they consider childminders i am going to challenge this i need all information i can get on it then i going to local mp
when i spoke to early years team they said they had decided to use funding this way i asked who decided wouldnt answer me

i asked our co-ordinator about this and she said the money is not available until next year and is to be used for training on enabling environments, dont think i cold get it through to her that no amount of training can help a childminder fund purchases that can be quite costly, i got the investing into your business talk but pointed out that we are in quite a low paid area for parents and cm's and her response was increase your rate

this morning i was telling one of my mindees mum about not being able to grant, she said leave it with (she works in voluntary sector fills out grant forms for groups) she has spoken to someone who works in early years who is on my side anyway the main man suppose to be phoning me tomorrow to see what he can do all i want is to no why i cant get anything but they giving to playschools
