    Default Attendance register

I have just realised my attendance book is about to run out so I am thinking about just making my own. Do you all have your own versions or buy ready made ones? PC skills are not my best skill so am going to see how I get on. If you do use your own do you keep them in a ring binder type file/ I am trying to work out the best format to use. One sheet per child or all the children on one page. I have a mixture of early years and older ones, some of the older ones are here before and after school so need to be able to record times twice a day.

I use separate sheets for each child and keep them in the child's folder but when the child leaves the attendance sheets stay with me along with any other paperwork that we have to keep. When I used to have older children I just put the times in my diary and again keep with any other paperwork for the child. I get my attendance sheets from childcare.co.uk

    I created my own.

Each child has their own page for the term ( and a space for any notes etc ) and I keep them in a ring folder. At the end of each academic year i file it away! works for me.

It took me years to get a format i was happy with, but a few years ago I got my daughter to make a form for me and that's what i use now.

I use one sheet for all the children. It's a table with names across the top and the days going down the side. Under each name are boxes for time in and time out. As I've got the form saved on my laptop, I can adjust it as I need to. So if I've got a school child I just use 2 columns for them - in out, in out. I get 2 weeks on an A4 sheet of paper and store them in a folder like this. At the end of each term I staple the pages together and move them to the back of the folder.

A4 60 Pocket Display Book Folder (Assorted Color) : Amazon.co.uk: Stationery & Office Supplies

I decided to keep all the children on one page as it's more likely that's what would ever be checked. Eg. If I had to show which children I had on a particular day I can just go to that day in the register rather than having to look through all the individual children's folders to see who was there. I think most people I know do separate sheets per child though.

Thanks everyone for your help, I am going to have a go at designing my own later this evening.
