Reception class children
Hi all
I haven't posted in a while but had a discussion with a fellow childminder and we couldn't agree on the 'rules' (so to speak). Could you clear it up for me please?
For children who are in school in reception class, do we need to complete any EYFS paperwork for them i.e. a learning journey, observations, transition report, etc?
Thanks

No, full-time reception year mindees have the full EYFS delivered at school and we just have to 'discuss (with school/parents/other providers) the support we intend to offer', so I understand that as discussing how you will support the child after school- talking about school topics, supporting with homework, supporting with consistant approach to behaviour or other issues etc etc.
Read EYFS 2014- Section 3, Paragraph 3.40

Thank you moggy.
So do you think I need to do anything like a 'progress summary' of sorts or just speak to the school and note it somewhere?

I talk to school and do occasional observations if I see something ... ie LO doesn't like writing but sat writing Christmas cards and posting them in the postbox. I then shared this with school. They share LOs file with me.
