I have asked all parents as we were considering getting a puppy for my ds and everyone said they had no problem with it
I want to make up a form were parents can sign that they agree to getting the puppy but im stuck on what to actually write
can anyone help please
Agree with FussyElmo you don't have to get their permission to get a puppy, just inform them that you ARE, amend your policies (Health & Safety - I include in mine that my dogs will always travel in the boot when I am minding - never in the actual car), risk assess (where dog will spend most of time, how you will ensure garden is clean and safe, how you will keep up to date with worming, flea & injections, how you will manage house training), give parents the updated policies and start searching for the right puppy for your family but that will fit in with the job you do too.
I have had two puppies over the last few years while childminding.
I informed parents, didn't tell Ofsted (have been inspected since without a problem) but I do have a permission form to say parents agree that their children are around the dogs and are happy to come on walks. Also I have a risk assessment and a form showing they are de-flea'ed, wormed and vaccinated. Just cover yourself with these things to show you are conscientious and responsible and you will be fine.
I agree with the others. When we got a cat, although I discussed with parents first, I didn't ask permission. The cat was a lovely addition to our family and I see it as a positive selling point when families come to visit.
thank you ladies i have now got the puppy and hes wonderful but hes kept separate from the minded kids until hes fully vaccinated. I have amended my policies and added a pet policy.
hes a complete charmer

You can't just post that - we want to know - what breed, what colour, what's his name??
