    Default Emergency Paperwork..confused!

    Hello all,
I just wondered if anyone could clarify something....I've just come across a very old thread by accident (2010 i think!) stating that our Accident /Emergency forms should say that we hold written parental permission to seek emergency medical 'advice or treatment', and that a minder was marked down for not having the correct wording, and therefore not complying with the legal requirement.
My own policy says medical assistance or treatment, but when out and about I always carry a copy of the child's signed (NCMA) record form in my bag, which DOES say 'advice', and carries all the other relevant info in case of emergency.

Well, this got me thinking...have I been doing something wrong in my own policy, and is there a need to change any wording if the signed Child Record Form provides the necessary permission, and is the use of this form still considered ok for the purpose of providing the emergency services with the info they would need?

(There's also another space to sign the same thing in the Accident and Incident record book individual child dividers)
I would really appreciate any help with this ....all I seem to be doing at the moment is repeating myself and giving parents possibly unnecessary paperwork to sign!!
    Thank you! x

It's a very old thread - the requirements of the Eyfs have changed - it is no longer a requirement to have that document in your file.

However, as part of your emergency procedures you need to consider how you will contact parents in an emergency - and who to contact next if parents do not answer.
