Default Info from parent on sign up

Hi all, I'm a newly registered childminder so just trying to find my feet with everything at the moment. I have just signed up my first under 5 and am in the process of completing all the paperwork.

At my registration visit I was asked how I would obtain information from parent's about the child's stage of learning and development. Apart from the obvious verbal communication are there any other methods that anyone finds useful? Also how do you document it?

There is a small space on my admissions form but not very in depth. I would be grateful of any help xx

Look at Free Resources above, click on free downloads and have a look there

may be this one? not looked into it.

An 'All About Me' sheet is what you need- things child likes, what they can do, what comforter they have, what they like to eat/don't like etc etc, family members, daily routines like nap times meal times and so on.

I give them a copy of the Development matters and get them to highlight and also put a 'P' alongside anything they think their child can do.
