    Default Behaviour Policy

I'm just currently working through Sarahs checklist 'Preparing for EYFS 2012' (thanks Sarah). Under the behaviour policy there is a line that says 'how physical intervention is managed and recorded'. Please can someone tell me what that means or even better how to add this into my policy how best to word it.

    Many thanks

    Tammy

    My behaviour policy says:

"Physical intervention will only be used to manage a child’s behaviour if it is necessary to prevent injury to the child or to other people, or to prevent serious damage to property. Any occasion where physical intervention is used to manage a child’s behaviour will be recorded and parents will be informed about it on the same day."

I've added this to my behaviour policy but should we have a form ready to record such incidents? I have accident and injury forms but do I need an additional form for this?

Don't think it matters. I'm planning to just use my normal incident forms. I have seen some physical intervention forms floating around if you wanted to use specific ones.

Thanks, I printed one out so it is in my file to show I have considered the need for one.
